You may have heard about the stowaway owl on social media. The tiny saw-whet owl was found in the Rockefeller Center’s 2020 Christmas tree.
These owls only grow to about eight inches, so it was no surprise that on first glance its rescuers thought it was a baby.
The owl was taken to Ravensbeard Wildlife Center where it was checked out, given a clean bill of health and eventually released back in the wild.
