Mosquitoes cause approximately 350 million human ailments and that number is rising. However, new research may have found a way to to reduce mosquitoes feeding on you by 80%.
They used a readily available natural molecule, cellulose, treated with sulfuric acid to form nanocrystals. These form a strong, transparent barrier that, combined with water and glycerol, can stop mosquitoes from being able to penetrate your skin.
The research is still ongoing, but could prove pivotal in combatting the global mosquito problem.
