Scientists at Cambridge and Leeds are working on a treatment that could reverse memory loss in humans after successfully reversing age-related memory loss in mice.
The researchers treated older mice with a ‘viral vector’ that would help restore neuroplasticity and alleviate memory deficits.
Viral vectors like this have also been used to help repair damage caused by glaucoma and dementia.
