Scientists have found a use for discarded aloe vera peels. Formerly considered trash, the discarded peels could the perfect response to crop-munching pests.

We know that aloe vera is excellent for burns and skin problems. You may not kn0ow that it is also good for easing digestion. Nobody until now has ever found a use for the peel and millions of tons of peels are trashed globally every year.

By drying the peels, researchers were able to extract a number of compounds with different properties. Octacosane turned out to be perfect for repelling mosquitoes and other compounds also showed considerable insecticidal properties.
