With the coronavirus outbreak, animal shelters across America are struggling to adapt and find new ways to care for all of the animals in their care.
In response, Americans are opening their homes to foster animals in record numbers. There has been an increase of over 93% in animals being fostered in America.
Fostering helps in a number of ways, including taking pressure off overwhelmed shelters, gives the animals safe and loving homes (even if only temporarily) and gives companionship to people stuck at home.
There’s still need for more fostering and help for the shelters. If you are inclined to help, contact your local shelter to find out what you can do.
