A new study has found that getting a good night’s sleep can help cut your appetite by up to 500 calories per day. You heard that right, getting enough sleep can help fight obesity.
Researchers found that not getting enough sleep can effect your appetite regulation, leading to increased food intake. Participants in the study were sent home with sleep monitors and asked to increase their shut eye to 8 1/2 hours a night.
The results were that their caloric intake dropped by an average of 270 kcal per day, translating to approximately 26 pounds of weight loss over the course of about three years.
