Live Healthier By Taking Afternoon Naps

There’s nothing quite like an afternoon nap and now there is research that shows taking a siesta can be beneficial to your brain health. Those taking naps under two hours showed significantly higher cognitive performance.

The test subjects were elderly and besides cognitive performance, they also showed higher levels of triglycerides, often associated with a lower risk of cognitive decline.

Taking naps longer than two hours can actually hurt cognitive function and the subjects used naps as a complement to their regular sleep rather than as compensation for less sleep at night.
