It may seem to go without saying, but living healthier will help you live longer and with less disease. A study has found that five factors can have a major effect on your health and longevity.
Smoking, lack of exercise, obesity, excessive drinking and poor eating habits all have a negative effect on your overall health and how long you can expect to live. Cutting out or changing four or five of these factors can help you live longer and healthier, no matter when you start.
On average, men and women both benefit from eliminating or changing these bad habits, with women gaining about ten disease-free years and men gaining about eight disease-free years.
