Until recently, many Americans dealing with diabetes have had trouble keeping up with the rising cost of insulin. The price tripled between 2002 and 2013 and the price has continued to climb with inflation. Now, the cost of insulin is being lowered.
With the passing of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, the three companies that control most of the insulin market have been lowering prices on their name-brand products after the bill capped insulin costs.
There are no alternatives to insulin and millions of people rely on the drug.
