The Delta variant of COVID-19 has been causing trouble for everyone, but pediatric hospitals have been hit especially hard. Until recently, children have been less affected by the coronavirus.
However, the Delta variant has changed that and hospitals are seeing as much as a 500% increase in the hospitalization of children due to COVID.
While still not hit as hard as adults, children with COVID are posing new problems due to children returning to school, other viruses that are circulating and lack of pediatric medical staff to properly care for the children entering the hospitals.
