Postpartum Depression Could Soon Have A Treatment With A Novel Drug

Postpartum depression affects one in every seven mothers. A new drug called zuranolone has shown promise of a treatment for those suffering from this mood condition.

Currently in Phase 3 trials, participants who were given the drug showed significant improvement. This potential pill-based treatment is a leap forward in helping women take charge of their mental health.

However, the answer isn’t found in the pill alone. Attempts should be made to extend care, understanding and compassion to new mothers.
