Researchers Find Connection Between Hypertension & Epilepsy

Researchers have found that high blood pressure increases the risk of epilepsy by 2.5 times. This could help lead to strategies for minimizing epilepsy through preventative health measures.

After studying people with diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking habits, cardiovascular disease, BMI and stroke history, the conclusions were that these posed no correlation to epilepsy.

With this knowledge, they can now better predict late-onset epilepsy and help address and treat the problem before it becomes an issue.
