In late 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA) was signed into law. What this law does is stop surprise billing and sets new transparency requirements.
These provisions would go into effect at the beginning of 2022. There are three regulations going into effect to help the implementation of the provisions.
