Beware of this fraudulent genetic testing scheme. They want to get your Medicare information for the purpose of identity theft and billing false claims.
Here’s how the scheme works. The scammers will offer you a free medical screening or send you a genetic testing kit in order to get your personal information.
The best way to protect yourself is not to give out your Medicare information to anyone but your physician’s office. Refuse delivery or return any medical testing kits that were not ordered by your physician.
If you think you may be getting targeted, you can report it at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services hotline or call 1-800-447-8477. Learn more about fraudulent genetic testing scams HERE.
