Looking to make your own mask? Some studies bring into question the effectiveness of masks made out of cotton. So, what material is best to use when making your own mask?
In a study to answer this question, it appears that a combination of materials is your best bet. Tightly woven cotton combined with two sheets of chiffon appears to be one of the best combos, being nearly as effective as N95 masks.
However, to be truly effective your mask should fit snugly, without any large gaps.
